Each May and December, the Nashville Coin Club and Hendersonville Coin Club coordinate to host a coin and currency show in Gallatin. Since 2024, "Nashville Coin Club, LLC" is a registered "unincorporated nonprofit association" with the State of Tennessee.
The modern iteration of the Nashville Coin Club has roots dating back to June 1947. An election of officers and dedication for a new club occurred at the James Robertson Hotel on June 15, 1947. The club continued to meet monthly, expand its membership and offerings, and eventually moved its meeting location to the community room at the Nashville Electric Service Building sometime in the late 1960's. Nashville Coin Club meetings continued to be held at that location and Hillsboro High School throughout the 1970's. During this time new traditions were born, such as a coin auction which accompanied the monthly meeting and the use of stamped wooden nickels to advertise the club to the community.
In the 1980's, the Nashville Coin Club hosted what would become a regional, and then a biannual, coin show. The show was held in the meeting room of the Sheraton South Hotel, at I-65 and Harding Road. The 1985 and 1987 Nashville Coin Shows occurred at this location, and you can view the flyers for those coin shows on this page. Over time, the coin show outgrew the Sheraton South Hotel. The show's location was moved, in partnership with the Hendersonville Coin Club, to the gymnasium of the Gallatin Civic Center. The Gallatin Coin Show is still going strong today. Learn more about an upcoming coin show visiting the "Coin Shows" tab.
As part of a club's re-organization in 2024, the Nashville Coin Club updated our governing documents and registered with the State of Tennessee as a non-profit organization. Because our purpose is for public benefit and not for profit, we operate under a 501(c)(3) Internal Revenue Service classification.
Officer elections are conducted annually. New nominations are made each November and an election is conducted at the December meeting. New officers are installed at the January meeting. For 2025, officers with the Nashville Coin Club are:
